Ok, look. I have seen A LOT of anime. I have seen anime where one of the main characters who is a good guy at the start becomes a super douche at the end; sometimes he dies, sometimes he is forgiven.
Rossiu from Gurren Laggan, in my opinion, should have had the shit beaten outta him or have been killed, cause that guy is a total prick.
I mean, look, I can understand, A LITTLE, about his logic with sacrificing Simon through execution in order to stabalize the crowd. But why didn't he wire himself up to be blown up incase Simon decided to run? Why allow Kinon to go out? He clearly knew she had feelings for him, yet he just used her.
When he starts to get all bitchy and shit I really just wanted someone on the deck(preferably Kinon or Ron) to stand up and slap him in the freaking face.
Before the time skip, I liked Rossiu. After episode 17, I was a little put off. After 18, I was seriously hoping he would die.
I have really NEVER felt this much contempt for a character in an anime; even the villians/antagonists in most I think "Dude. What a dick/evil bastard." The only ones I hate, with a PASSION, are the ones who think they are all perfect and right, then they crumble under extreme stress or just turn back on what made them such likeable characters.
Ok, sorry about that rant. Just had to get it out.
